Once your merchant account status is Configuring your account, you can create a payment page, select a settlement account, and prepare your payment integration.
If you have not yet applied for a merchant account, see How to open a merchant account inside Genome?
Choose your integration
Genome supports two integration models. The options and payment methods available to you depend on the configuration approved for your merchant account.
- Hosted Payment Page: Genome hosts the checkout page where customers enter their payment information.
- Host-to-host integration: You build and control the card checkout in your own environment and send transaction requests directly to the Genome Gateway API. Applicable PCI DSS requirements apply.
How to create a Hosted Payment Page
One merchant account can have multiple payment pages. To create one:
1. Open Payment pages
Open the Merchants menu and select Payment pages from the left-side menu. Select the option to create a new payment page.
2. Complete the general information
Select the merchant account that you want to connect to the payment page and enter a name for the page.
3. Configure payment methods, callbacks, and redirects
In Payment methods, select from the payment methods enabled for your merchant account. In Callbacks and redirects, enter the callback URL and configure the success and failure redirect settings for your checkout flow.
4. Configure additional information
Open Additional information if you want the payment page to request additional information from your customers.
5. Retrieve your API credentials
After creating the payment page, you can find its API key in the upper-right corner. Keep your API credentials secure and never expose your API secret in browser-side code.
6. Complete and test the integration
Follow the Genome Hosted Payment Page documentation to create signed payment requests, configure callbacks and redirects, and test the complete payment flow.
How to integrate directly via host-to-host — card processing coming soon
Use host-to-host integration if you want to build and control the card checkout in your own environment and send transaction requests directly from your server to the Genome Gateway API.
Unlike the Hosted Payment Page, an H2H integration can bring cardholder data into your systems. Your business must comply with the PCI DSS requirements applicable to its integration and complete Genome's technical and compliance checks before production activation.
Do not store card numbers, security codes, or other sensitive authentication data unless this is required for your approved implementation and permitted under PCI DSS.
H2H integration process
- Obtain approval for your Genome merchant account and card-processing setup.
- Contact support@genome.eu and provide the transaction types required for your business model.
- Implement the required requests in the test environment using the Genome API documentation.
- Test every transaction type required for your business model using the test currency and test data provided in the documentation.
- Send Genome the references of the completed test transactions for technical certification.
- After successful certification, implement the production credentials provided by Genome.
- Complete the agreed production tests before accepting customer card payments.
The H2H API supports transaction flows including authorization, 3D Secure authorization, sale, settlement, void, refund and transaction-status checks. The transaction types enabled for your merchant account depend on the approved setup.
Refer to the Genome Host-to-host API documentation for request formats, parameters, test instructions and response codes.
How to set a settlement account
A settlement account is the Genome account selected to receive funds processed through your merchant account. You can assign settlement accounts by merchant account and, where supported, by currency.
1. Open the merchant account settings
Open the Merchants menu, select the relevant merchant account, and open Settings.
2. Add the settlement account
Add the Genome account to which you want the funds to be settled.
For Pay by Bank using SEPA transfers, select an eligible EUR Genome account. Card-processing settlement currencies, settlement timing and reserve conditions will be confirmed as part of your approved merchant setup.
If you use Pay by Bank on different websites, you need a separate merchant account for each website: one website = one merchant account.

Before you start processing
Do not process live customer payments until Genome confirms that your merchant account, payment methods, integration, and production credentials are active. When the merchant account status is Ready for processing, you can begin accepting payments through the approved integration.
Card payment processing — Coming soon
Visa and Mastercard card processing through Genome's Hosted Payment Page and H2H integration is coming soon for eligible Genome merchant account holders. Initial availability will be limited to approved low-risk businesses and will depend on the country of registration, industry and merchant category code, processing currencies, due diligence, risk approval and technical setup.
