How to open a merchant account inside Genome?

Opening a merchant account with Genome is a straightforward process. Here’s how it works:

1. Open a business account (for new customers). Before applying for a merchant account, you first need to fully set up your Genome business account.

2. Apply for a merchant account. In your Merchant Dashboard, go to the “Accounts” section and click the “+” button to start your application.

3. Complete verification (KYC).

4. To activate payment processing, you’ll need to:

* Fill out the Merchant KYC questionnaire.

* Upload the required documents.

Genome also shows your merchant setup status in the merchant dashboard.

5. Application review. Once Genome reviews your information, your account status will change to "Configuring your account". 

This means you're approved to move forward with the account setup and technical integration using Genome's Hosted Payment Page API, available here: Genome Developer Docs – HPP Integration Flow. 

At this stage, you will need to create a payment page and select a settlement account.

How to create a payment page?

You can now create a payment page. One merchant account can have multiple payment pages. To do so:

1. Go to the Merchants menu.

2. Find the Payment pages tab on the left side menu. The dashboard will prompt you to create a new payment page - proceed, following the instructions.

3. Choose the merchant account that you want to link to your payment page in the General information section. Here, you can also name your payment page.

4. Set available payment methods in the Payment methods section. Go to the Callback and redirects section to set the URL to which we should send callbacks, and for other callback and redirect settings.

5. Go to the Additional information section if you want to get additional information about your customers.

6. Once the first payment page has been created, you can find the API key at the top right corner.

How to set a settlement account?

You can choose your settlement accounts where payments will be deposited. You can assign different settlement accounts per merchant account, or even per currency. For Pay by Bank (SEPA transfers), you'll need to choose a EUR account for settlement.

1. Go to the Merchants menu.

2. Select a merchant account for which you want to set a settlement account and go to its Settings.

3. Add the account to which you want to settle your funds. 

When your account is "Ready for processing," it means that you are ready to start accepting payments through Genome.

IMPORTANT: Please note that if you want to start processing via the Open Banking solution on different websites, multiple merchant accounts should be created (1 website = 1 merchant account).
